1 Week After Surgery
I am so happy and relieved to be past Maddy's surgery. She was a real trooper with everything she went through. In total we ended up spending 3 days and 2 night in the hospital. She is healing very well and her sweet spirit has returned. The only thing left to get back on track is her sleeping. She is waking at night several times. That's okay as each night brings a step in the right direction. Here are a few pictures.

She is doing so well!! Yes, the sleep thing can be tricky following the palate surgery. They (usually) give them a steroid drip during the surgery to minimize swelling since they are working on her airway, and the steroid takes a while to work out of their system...messing up their sleep a bit. But, that will work itself out soon. Hang in there!!
They did a great job! Hard to believe it was only a week ago. I noticed her hair has really grown too! She's such a pretty girl!
I just got around to checking out your updates, so glad things are going well and her surgery was a success! AND I finally got to see a picture of the sweet face that helped us so much with our adoption :) I know you think I am nuts, but I will never forget your help :)
